Big time schools continue to focus on Brian Bowen

Brian Bowen is having a monster start to his junior year as a member of the La Lumiere Lakers

Five-star wing Brian Bowen has been on a mission since coming back healthy and enrolling at La Lumiere. The class of 2017 prospect seems primed to bring his game to another level this season, and as expected his recruitment continues to expand.

After missing some time with a foot injury, Bowen now says he is healthy and feeling fine.

“It feels great right now,” said Bowen of the foot. “I was out for two months, and now I am back in it and everything feels good.”

When it comes to his play, Bowen said, “Everything has been going great. I have been playing well, and individually I feel my shot is going down and I am improving my ball handling and showing everyone I can play shooting guard.”

Recruiting wise numerous schools have been through La Lumiere to see Bowen, and his list of schools continues to get longer.

“Kentucky, Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana, Florida State, Texas, there have been plenty of schools coming in to watch,” said Bowen.

Bowen has a longstanding connection to Michigan State through his cousin Jason Richardson.

“It is a blessing to have them and all the schools recruiting me,” said Bowen. “I go way back with Coach (Tom) Izzo because he coached by cousin, but I am still open. It is great to have them recruiting me though and it is a school I am interested in.”

Another school that has been picking up the pace in his recruitment is Kentucky, and Bowen is listening to what the Wildcats have to say.

“They say they love my game,” said Bowen. “I have played well in front of the coaching staff, and they say they want to see me more and that they are going to recruit me hard.”

For now Bowen doesn’t have any visits set up and says he is focused on getting better and having a big season on the court.
