Top 75 center Trevor Stanback commits to Stanford

Scout's 69th ranked 2016 prospect, Trevor Stanback, has committed to Stanford. The four-star center discusses his pledge to the Cardinal.

Stanford is on the board in 2016, as the Cardinal have received a commitment from 6-foot-10, 220-pound Pasadena (Calif.) Maranatha center Trevor Stanback.

Stanback, ranked 69th by Scout in 2016, chose Stanford over finalists Colorado and San Diego State.

"It was a long process but I'm happy with the decision I made," Stanback said. "I thought it was the best place for me, not just for the academics but because of the staff and players."

The coaching staff at Stanford is a big reason that Stanback will continue his basketball career in Palo Alto.

"They're all very genuine," he said. "You can tell they really care about their players. They all have good coaching experience, especially coach (Johnny) Dawkins."

Stanback hopes to make an early impact at Stanford.

"They think I can get minutes as a freshman as long as I work hard," Stanback said.
