Now back at 22 Ft Academy in Greenville, South Carolina, Sedee Keita wants to stay in the South. The center has picked the Gamecocks on Monday night. This is a quality pledge for South Carolina as Keita is someone with the ability to really rebound, defend, and is developing on the offensive end.
According to 22 Ft Academy coach Ryan Schmidt, Keita had a good bond with the coaches and picked the school based on that.
"Sedee felt that that he had a close bond with Frank Martin and the rest of the coaching staff," said Schmidt. "They have been recruiting Sedee for a long time, and he felt comfortable with the program not only from a basketball perspective but academically as well.
Keita selected South Carolina over Temple and Providence where he also visited. Schmidt feels that South Carolina is getting a player whose best basketball is ahead of him.
"I think Sedee is just scratching the surface," said Schmidt. "He has been great for us on the defensive end, and he continues to work hard on offense. I think he will fit in well with what Frank Martin and his staff are trying to do."
This is the first commitment for South Carolina in the 2016 class.
