Tai Wynyard to enroll at Kentucky for second semester

Rather than wait until the end of the current season, Tai Wynyard, a native of New Zealand, has opted to enroll at Kentucky for their second semester.

New Zealand native and current Kentucky commit Tai Wynyard will enroll at Kentucky at the semester break, he told Scout late Wednesday evening.

"Well right now I'm set to leave on the 15th of December," Wynyard said.

Wynyard, a 6-foot-9, 260-pound center, is regarded as a four-star prospect, but isn't ranked on Scout due to being an international prospect. A bruising, tough post player, Wynyard will be able to help Kentucky in the paint with his rebounding, physical play and close range scoring.

But will Wynyard look to get on the court this coming season or opt to redshirt?

"I'm not exactly sure yet," Wynyard said. "I know it's going to be hard if I try and come in not knowing any of the plays and stuff so I'm not sure at all."

Wynyard went on to say that there was a "60-percent" chance of him redshirting this coming season.

"Right now I'm just focusing on getting the plays right when I get there and making myself better any way I can
