Quality three-star guard Marquell Fraser picks VCU

VCU added a lot of toughness to their roster with the commitment of Marquell Fraser.

In this area of positionless basketball it can be interesting defining some players. One of those is Marquell Fraser. Fraser, who just committed to VCU, is one of the more interesting players in the class given his size and unique skillset.

Over the summer Fraser impressed with U-Play Canada on the adidas circuit. He has good size at 6-foot-4, is tough, rebounds, passes well, and makes plays going to the rim. The one major hole in Fraser's game is he is really lacking as a shooter. That turned some colleges off to Fraser, but in the end he found a home in the Atlantic 10.

During his official visit to the school, Fraser made his commitment to VCU. Along with VCU, Fraser also entertained schools such as Bradley and James Madison wher he also visited officially.

In the end though, Fraser felt his unique game fit in well with what Will Wade and VCU like to do. He is at his best in an attacking style, and Fraser likes the fit he has with the coaching staff as well.

Fraser now joins De'Riante Jenkins in a very solid two-man class for the Rams.
