A successful summer on the AAU circuit with the Compton Magic propelled Jules Bernard into Scout's Top 25, landing at 18th nationally in 2018.
The 6-foot-5, 185-pound Los Angeles Windward shooting guard has good size and length and is an aggressive slasher who is tough to stop off the bounce due to his body control and handle.
Since the summer, Bernard has worked hard to take his game to the next level.
"I've been working out a lot," Bernard said. "I'm trying to get my shot better. I used to only shoot threes and drive to the basket when I was younger but I'm getting my midrange better.
"I'm really working on dribble pull-ups and basic moves to create space and get open."
As of now, two schools are recruiting Bernard the hardest and he broke down what he likes about each of them.
UCLA: "They have great coaches. I watched one of their practices not long ago and they really expect the best out of their players, coaches and program. Their expectations, what they believe they should be, just shows the quality of basketball at the school."
USC: "I always liked USC as a kid. I love coach (Andy) Enfield. I seem to connect with him and I like them a lot."
Bernard says that location won't be a big factor in his decision.
"I just want the best school; if it's the best school for me, that's where I'll go, no matter where it is," he said.
