Coming off of an active early signing period, there aren’t many available high major targets left on the board. So the National Prep Showcase last weekend was a hot spot for coaches in need of players to fill out their 2016 recruiting class.
Alpha Diallo, a 6-foot-5 available senior wing, was among the recruits in attendance under the microscope by coaches in attendance.
At this stage, Diallo claims significant interest from Florida, Miami, Texas A&M, Kansas, Indiana and VCU. But he made it clear he’s interested in new schools jumping in his recruitment.
“Everything is still open,” Diallo told Scout. “I haven’t signed yet.”
Diallo has only taken one official visit so far. He took a trip to VCU to spend time with Will Wade and his staff.
“It was great,” Diallo said of the visit. “I really enjoyed their team. Their coaches really welcomed me in and I got to meet with the guys. Everything was good.”
Diallo said he does, however, intend to take more visits, although he’s yet to set any up.
“I haven’t planned anything out yet, but in the long run that’s something I’ll plan on,” he said.
Diallo is currently regarded as a three-star prospect on Scout.
