Young In No Hurry

Louisiana native and current National Christian Academy big man Jabbar Young made an official visit last weekend to West Virginia. While the visit went well, Young isn't expected to reach a decision anytime soon.

Young Might Wait Until The Spring

Center Jabbar Young is entering his second season at National Christian Academy. The 6-9, 275 pounder made his first official visit last weekend and West Virginia was the beneficiary of the trip.

According to National Christian head coach Trevor Brown, Young is receiving interest from a number of schools including Wake Forest, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, LaSalle, St. Joe's, Temple, Drexel, George Washington and Tulane. Florida International is coming up this week to watch him workout.

However, Young isn't in any rush to make a decision. "He wants to sign late," Brown said. "He's anticipating having a good season and he thought he had a good ABCD Camp but he didn't think he looked as good or improved when he played with D.C. Assault. He plays a lot better with the guys at school."

Last year, Young averaged 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks under Brown's tutelage. Young has great size and has shown improvement in the last two years.

Dakin Braddick, a native of South Carolina, recently transferred to National Christian. Brown says Braddick is being recruited by Houston, Fordham, South Carolina and Georgetown. Braddick is 6-10 but slightly built at 205.
