In the 2018 class a lot of buzz in the Washington D.C. area is building around Prentiss Hubb. The Gonzaga High School guard continues to grow physically and with his game. He showed off those improvements over the weekend at the Chicago Elite Classic.
“The start of the season is going pretty well,” said Hubb. “We are playing more as a team. We lost seniors last year, but we have built depth on the bench and we have played as a team and not individuals.”
He continued, “I’ve been working more on my ball handling, getting stronger, and working more as a point guard.”
On the recruiting trail it is no surprise that some of the highest ranked teams in the country are already in the mix for his services.
“I’ve been talking to Maryland and a few other schools like Xavier, Penn State, Cincinnati, NC State, and a few others.”
Recently Hubb was able to make it to College Park to see the Terps take on the Georgetown Hoyas, and it was an impressive trip.
“It was a really great experience,” said Hubb of the visit. “I saw them play Georgetown and the atmosphere of the game was amazing. The way they played through all the noise and the crowd was impressive.”
Also Xavier has offered and is making Hubb a major priority as well.
“I talk to Coach (Mike) Pegues, and he is trying to get me there for an unofficial visit,” said Hubb. “I am trying to do that this summer.”
For now Hubb is simply trying to get as much information as he can about schools, and is looking for certain factors in a potential college.
“I am looking mainly a team that wins games and somewhere that I can fit in with how they play,” said Hubb.
