Robinson Idehen one of west’s top availables

Robinson Idehen is one of the top available prospects on the West Coast. Here's the latest on the 2016 center's recruitment.

One of the top unsigned prospects on the West Coast comes from Modesto (Calif.) Christian in Robinson Idehen.

The 6-foot-9, 205-pound 2016 center is a defensive specialist whose shot blocking and rebounding ability give him value at the next level.

“I try to focus on rebounding, blocking shots and finishing,” Idehen said. “I’m getting better. I’m getting more and more comfortable.”

Even though Idehen exited the fall signing period with offers from schools such as Houston, Nevada, Pacific, Rice, San Diego and UCSB, he opted to wait until the spring before making a decision.

“I wanted to see what options I would have,” Idehen said. “I want to find the best option for me, even if the school comes late.”

Since the end of the fall signing period, multiple programs have been in contact with Idehen.

“I’ve been talking to Nebraska, Saint Mary’s, Pacific, Nevada and Oregon State,” he said.

As of now, there are no favorites in Idehen’s recruitment.

“I’m wide open,” he said. “I’m looking for a place I can play and get experience. I also want good academics.”
