The diminutive Chris Lykes is one prospect who always finds a way to produce in the 2017 class. Lykes, who only goes about 5-foot-7, is an explosive scorer, and he showed some improvements to his floor game at the Chicago Elite Classic.
“We are 2-0 and I am happy with our wins,” said Lykes. “We are coming together as a team and we have great chemistry.”
He continued, “I’ve been working on extending my range and being more of a floor general, and also improving my stamina so I can be more of a floor general.”
On the recruiting side of things a bunch of schools are beginning to take a long look at Lykes.
“I’ve been hearing from Vanderbilt, VCU, Richmond, George Mason, George Washington, Miami, Santa Clara, Dayton, Tulane, and a few other schools,” said Lykes. “I have visited VCU and GW.”
VCU is a school that has been on Lykes since Will Wade got the job in Richmond, and Lykes enjoyed his time on campus when he visited.
“I was amazed by VCU,” said Lykes. “I played some AAU games there when I was younger. The facilities are great, and there is a lot going on there. VCU is a place that I really like.”
For now Lykes is focused on improving, and is trying to gain as much information as he can about all potential schools before coming to a decision.
