With the high school season in full swing, underclassmen prospect are starting to emerge as standouts and recruiting athletes.
While 2018 wing Isaiah Mucius, of Hagerstown (Md.) Saint James School, already has college interest, he certainly impressed this past weekend at the National Hoops Festival, which was held at DeMatch Catholic in Hyattsville (Md.).
Mucious, who stands 6-foot-7, has good size and length for the wing position. He’s also a good athlete that gets off the ground quickly. He’s capable of making long range shots or mixing in drives to the rim.
“I think on this team I come into the game to give energy,” Mucious said. “Give points, rebound, box out and kind of push the ball.
“I’m just working on my guard skills and trying to be a point guard and also being able to hit that jump shot, because I’m going to need that jump shot in college,” he added.
“I’m just waiting to see how it goes,” he said about the process.
Mucious, who plays for the PSA Cardinalds, hasn’t taken any college visits.
