The top prospect in the 2018 class -- Marvin Bagley -- found his new high school home.
Bagley, who started the season at Phoenix (Ariz.) Hillcrest, will transfer to Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon. Sierra Canyon coach Ty Nichols informed Scout of the news.
"He toured our school in November and then went through the same application process, that any other student does," Nichols told Scout. "We accepted him in December and he'll be on campus on January 4th."
According to Nichols, Bagley's family moved to Los Angeles. They haven't been given word if, or when, he will become eligible. Nichols said that is a "CIF issue."
"One of the reasons he came to Seirra Canyon was they wanted to come to an academic institution," Nichols said.
Nichols fields a team that includes highly touted prospects Cody Riley, Ira Lee, Devearl Ramsey among others. Adding the top player in the class to that group will give them one of the best frontlines in high school basketball.
Bagley already has a lengthy list of the nation's elite schools recruiting him. He took a recent unofficial visit to Duke at the beginning of December.
