One of the West Coast’s top power forwards in 2018 is 6-foot-8, 205-pound J'Raan Brooks out of Seattle Garfield.
The San Diego native transferred into Garfield from Seattle Prep and is still getting settled into his new squad.
“I’m getting used to playing for a new team after transferring in,” Brooks said. “I’m figuring out the chemistry and trying to improve.
“I’m working on my defense against guards, being quicker on my feet and my vertical.”
“Washington has offered,” Brooks said. “I like that it’s the hometown team and I like the coaching staff.”
Brooks says that location won’t play a factor in his decision and he’s in no rush to commit anywhere.
“I’m going to wait until my senior year,” Brooks said.
