One of the West Coast's top defenders in 2018 is Payton Moore, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard from Los Angeles Windward.
Moore has a very good frame with long arms and has a relentless approach to the defensive end of the floor, where his lateral quickness, toughness and feel make him a tough player to score on, while he also is a strong rebounder, slasher and passer.
"I'm working on continuing to score, play hard and play defense and get my teammates involved," Moore said. "I need to continue to work on some of the stuff I don't do as well."
The Trojans have done a good job recruiting the sophomore.
"USC is close to home and it's a great school," Moore said. "Jason Hart is a great coach and (Andy) Enfield is doing a great job there."
Moore is also intrigued by Boise State's recruiting pitch.
"I like the coaching staff; they run a dynamic offense," he said. "It's a school I'm really interested in."
Location may or not play a factor in Moore's recruitment, but he has an idea of what will be important to him in a school.
"I don't know what I want to do yet [as far as location]," Moore said. "I want a great campus, school and coaching staff that runs a good, dynamic offense."
