Five-star point guard Trevon Duval is one of the truly elite players in the country. Now at API in Dallas, Duval is having a fantastic junior season and he says he is taking a long look at his recruitment.
“It has been up and down season so far, but it helping me grow as a player,” said Duval. “I am just trying to fight through adversity and have a strong season.”
He continued, “I am just trying to work on my shot and also limiting my turnovers. I have a goal of a 3-to-1 assist to turnover ratio.”
In terms of his recruitment, Duval said several schools are stepping up their recruitment of him.
“I would say Arizona, Maryland, Louisville, Baylor, and UCLA have been recruiting me hard recently,” said Duval.
When it comes to the process, Duval says he and his family are taking a long look at all of the schools and could narrow things down soon.
“Me and my dad we really handle my recruitment,” said Duval. “My mom gives her input here and there. She doesn’t know much about basketball, so she talks about the schools. My dad and I have talked about cutting my list down sometime soon.”
Duval has made a visit to Maryland, and says he likes the way that the Terps use their guards.
“I like the way Coach (Mark) Turgeon lets his guards go,” said Duval. “He lets Melo (Trimble) come off of a lot of pick and rolls and play his game.”
Also Duval is very intrigued with Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats.
“Coach Miller lets Gabe York play his game and get shots up, and lets the team run up and down as well,” noted Duval. “I just like how they play.”
When it comes to making visits, Duval simply stated, “I need to make some visits, but I don’t have anything set up.”
