Five-star center Zach Brown commits to Connecticut

Kevin Ollie and his staff reeled in a five-star prospect in the 2017 class.

Five-star prospect Zach Brown verbally committed to Kevin Ollie and Connecticut on Wednesday, his guardian Michael Lipman told Scout.

"We are so excited right now," Lipman said.

Brown, a 7-foot center out of Miami (Fla.) Senior, visited the Huskies unoffically over the weekend. He considered a host of other high major schools including Florida, Georgia, Miami and North Carolina State.

WIth the pledge, UConn now has their first commitment of the 2017 class. This comes off a top 10 recruiting in 2016, where the Huskies landed three players ranked among the top 63 players in the nation.

Brown, who played for Nike South Beach during the spring and summer, is currently regarded as the No. 26 overall recruit in the 2017 class.
