Four schools remain in the mix for coveted 2016 wing Micah Thomas

Athletic wing Micah Thomas has emerged as a priority recruit for high-major schools as a senior. Four schools remain on his list with one visit set up.

It has been an eye opening senior year at times for Micah Thomas. A native of Memphis, Thomas is now at Huntington Prep and is one of the most heavily pursued wins remaining in the 2016 class.

About his season so far, Thomas said, “The season has been up and down, but it has been a good experience for me to come in and play some tougher competition, so overall it has been good.”

He continued, “I’m working to get stronger and also focusing on rebounding better.”

On the recruiting trail a quartet of schools remain in the mix for Thomas.

“Maryland, Arkansas, LSU, and Louisville are my four schools,” noted Thomas.

About Maryland, Thomas said, “Maryland started recruiting me pretty late, but I love them and their coaching staff.”

When it comes to LSU, Thomas said, “I like their up and down game. They let their guys shoot a lot of shots and play fast and free.”

The school closes to Thomas’ hometown in the mix is Arkansas, and the Razborbacks have been pursuing him for a while.

“They have been recruiting me since ninth grade and I am close with the coaches,” said Thomas of Arkansas. “Also I have family in Arkansas so that would be cool to play there.”

Also the Louisville Cardinals have really stepped up their pursuit of Thomas, and are making it clear he is a priority for them to finish out the 2016 class with.

“They say I am one of their top prospects and they just want to get me in their program and help me get better,” noted Thomas.

In terms of visits, one is set and the rest are in the process of being planned.

“I have a Louisville visit February 1 and I am trying to set everything else up,” Thomas explained. “I have been to Arkansas before, but Louisville is the only official visit I have set up.”
