Five-star center Jeremiah Tilmon continues to have a strong junior year at La Lumiere. A high level athlete with big time defensive ability and developing offensive skill, Tilmon is pulling in interest from coast-to-coast on the recruiting trail.
About this season, Tilmon said, “I’ve just been working on everything. I have been working on my free throws and jump shot a lot because I haven’t shot much in the past, and also I am being more aggressive in the paint.”
When it comes to his recruitment, things are extremely busy for Tilmon.
“I have been hearing a lot from Texas, North Carolina, UCLA, Illinois, Arizona, and Iowa has been coming at me real hard,” noted Tilmon.
North Carolina has really picked things up this year, and Tilmon is very intrigued with the program.
“It is a big school and a great school,” said Tilmon. “I feel like me going there would be great, and they have a sense of how to get players to the NBA. Also they have a good history with big men, and they throw their bigs the ball so I like that.”
He continued about the Tar Heels, “I talk to Coach (Roy) Williams all the time. We are at the point where he is like a second dad and we can talk about everything.”
The school that has been recruiting Tilmon the longest is Illinois, and he continues to have a good bond with that staff.
“They talk to me all the time and I have that bond with Illinois,” said Tilmon. “I talk to them all the time and I like the school, so I have a good bond with them as people and I like them a lot.”
Also Iowa has been extremely active in recruiting Tilmon, and the Hawkeyes have built a strong relationship with him.
“It is a good thing to hear from them,” said Tilmon of Iowa. “I have a good relationship with the coaching staff and they are talking to me a lot. Also one of my teammates from the St. Louis Eagles (Tyler Cook) is going there and he is recruiting me to go there with him.”
A school that Tilmon hopes to get out and visit is UCLA.
“They talk to me a lot and they want to get me down for a visit,” explained Tilmon. “It is far away so I haven’t had a chance yet. I have to take my test first so I can make an official visit, but it is a school I definitely want to see.”
For now Tilmon says he is in no rush to narrow down his school list or make a commitment.
