"It’s an opportunity that he feels like he can be most successful based off of opportunity to play and things of that nature," he added.
Ballock, of Eudora (Kans.) High, took an unofficial visit to Creighton over the weekend. Kansas was also involved and even thought of as a potential favorite.
"They wow'd him this weekend," Goolsby said. "He’s been saying he’s wanted to get it over with."
This is a significant pick up for the Bluejays. Ballock is regarded as the No. 53 overall prospect and the No. 8 shooting guard in the junior class.
What will he bring to Creighton?
"He’s a multi-dimentionsal guy that can play different spots on the floor," Goolsby said. "He’s a guy that makes players around him better. That’s his nature and he’s a winner. That's what I told everyone that recruited him."
Ballock is Creighton's second wing pledge of the 2017 class. Ballock joins three-star Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy guard TyShon Alexander to make up their current class.
