Three-star wing Micah Thomas continues to add to his game at Huntington Prep. The highly athletic Thomas is now one of the most sought-after 2016 prospects in the country. Recently Thomas made his first official visit, and now his second one is also set.
Even with some distractions, the University of Louisville has been very active on the recruiting trail. For a while they have prioritized Thomas, and recently he made his official visit to the school.
According to Thomas the visit went well, and he could see himself suiting up for the Cardinals.
“It was crazy,” said Thomas of the trip. “It was just such an awesome environment and all the players were great. I felt like I could fit in there if I went there.”
One of the issues for Louisville is related to their post season ban, but Thomas said Head Coach Rick Pitino addressed it with his mom, and there are no worries for him long term.
“On my visit my mom hadn’t even asked the question, and (Pitino) told her the situation and what was going on, so I liked that,” said Thomas.
Up next for Thomas will be a trip to Maryland. The Terrapins have really made Thomas a priority recently, and he is looking forward to getting to College Park for a visit.
“They’ve been recruiting me pretty hard, but they came in late,” said Thomas of Maryland. “They have been recruiting me pretty hard so that is good. I have a visit set up after our season ends, I think April 8-10.”
The other school that had been thrown in the mix a lot with Thomas is Arkansas, but he indicated that he has stopped talking to them and is focused on a final two of Louisville and Maryland.
Expect Thomas to make a decision following his visit to Maryland and then sign during the month of April during the late signing period.
