One of the more interesting prospects developing on the East Coast in the 2017 class is Nate Pierre-Louis. Pierre-Louis is having a very productive junior season, and the combo guard continues to gain interest.
“I am trying to adjust my role on this team and being more of a point guard,” said Pierre-Louis of his season. “I am getting better and just trying to improve.”
He continued, “I have been working on everything. I have grown, and I know that in order to take my game to the next level I have to do a better job of being a point guard and getting my teammates involved.”
On the recruiting trail Pierre-Louis has picked up significant interest, and continues to monitor the schools recruiting him closely.
“Right now I have SMU, Connecticut, Purdue, Miami, Providence, Temple, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and a few others,” said Pierre-Louis.
He went on, “I have seen Rutgers play and I have been to a lot of Seton Hall games.”
SMU Head Coach Larry Brown flew to the Primetime Shootout to check in on Pierre-Louis, and Pierre-Louis says it is great to have the Mustangs interested in him.
“SMU is a really good school,” said Pierre-Louis. “They are in the top 25 and coached by a Hall of Famer. I am happy he likes my game and that I am someone who he has interest in.”
Seton Hall is the school that Pierre-Louis has had a chance to see the most, and he likes what he has seen from the Pirates this season.
“I like going to their games,” said Pierre-Louis of Seton Hall. “It has been a fun experience and seeing how I would fit in. I see what they do well and how I fit in with them, so I have enjoyed it.”
While no decision is imminent, Pierre-Louis does know what he is looking for in a school.
“I just look for how teams play and how I would fit in, and also a place where I could play right away,” he explained.
