Unfortunately for Marcus Carr a knee injury got in the way of his season. The native of Canada was set to make a big impact for Montverde Academy. Now however Carr is focused on rehab, and he expects to be back on the court before too long.
“It is going great right now,” said Carr of his rehab. “I am working on strength stuff. I am practicing and working on drills to get better. I haven’t started contact or anything like that, but just some drills to get better.”
With Montverde again being one of the top reams in the country they are set to travel to the Dick’s Nationals to close out the year, and that is what Carr is aiming for, but he is leaving his return up to the doctors.
“I am hoping to get back for the national tournament, but there is no date,” said Carr. “It all depends on when the doctor clears me. If he feels I am good to go for the tournament I will play, but if not it will be the spring.”
While he is out with an injury, that hasn’t stopped college coaches from recruiting him, and Carr continues to add interest from schools around the country.
“I am hearing the most from my offers like Virginia Tech, Baylor, and Vanderbilt,” said Carr. “Also I recently picked up interest from Seton Hall and Villanova.”
Carr hasn’t made recent visits, but he hopes to do that after the season. In the meantime he has already formulated what he will be looking for in a school.
“I am looking for a place that I have a good relationship with the coach and a playing style that fits my game,” said Carr.
