Five-star center Nick Richards has shown great improvement as a junior under the tutelage of Patrick School Head Coach Mike Rice. Richards, who is extremely naturally gifted, is one of the most heavily recruited players in the country, and he continues to work hard on his game.
“Things are going well,” said Richards. “I am getting better and feeling healthy. I am just trying to continue to improve.”
He continued, “I am working on my jump shot, and also trying to improve my IQ as well. Basically I am just working on everything.”
On the recruiting trail Richards says that he hasn’t yet begun to pay too much attention to things, but attention is definitely coming in from some of the top programs in the country.
“I am hearing from the same schools, Kentucky, Arizona, Syracuse, Connecticut, and some others,” said Richards.
About the level of his recruitment, Richards said, “It is a blessing to be considered one of the best players in the country, and to have schools like that recruiting me is just an honor.”
Currently Richards says he has only made one campus visit this year, “Connecticut has been my only visit for a game so far. It was a good experience. They showed me around campus, and it was just a good time.”
For now Richards remains focused on getting better and helping The Patrick School made a deep run in the tournament in the state of New Jersey. From there he plans on going through the spring and summer before making any kind of decision on his future in college.null
