Justin Roberts commits to Toledo

Toledo adds point guard Justin Roberts to their 2016 recruiting class.

Justin Roberts, of Lawrence (Kans.) High, verbally committed to Toledo late Friday night, he told Scout.

"I chose this school because I feel like they are a family, they have a lot of potential with their young guys and I feel it's the best fit for me," Roberts said. "I'm extremely happy."

Roberts, who is the son of Kansas assistant and former St. John's head coach Norm Roberts, also considered UMKC, Drake, LeHigh, Loyola Maryland, UC-Davis, Bradley, MTSU, VCU and DePaul.

As of early February, Roberts was averaging 23 points and five assists a game as a junior. How will he help the Rockets?

"With my court vision leadership and shooting ability," he said.

Roberts took an official visit to Toledo this past weekend.
