At 6-foot-6 with solid athleticism, Destin Barnes really began to emerge on the scene as a senior at Bon Bosco Prep. Barnes, who is originally from Chicago, really saw his game advance and that led to a lot of new offers and interest. In the end though the Boston Terriers were the ones who did the best job and on Friday they were able to land his commitment.
This season Barnes averaged 24 points and 7 rebounds per game on 42 percent shooting from three and 86 percent from the foul line. The growth for Barnes led to near double figure offers, but after talking things over with his coaches and family he decided that Boston U was the best spot for him.
Recently schools such as Georgetown and Vanderbilt came in to evaluate Barnes who also had offers such as Tennessee State, Detroit, Toledo, American, Siena and others.
This is a quality add for the Terriers who needed added scoring puch from the guard position, and they will get it with Barnes.
