When UNLV made the decision to fire head coach Dave Rice, the expectation was that their commitments would probably look around depending on who was hired. On Wednesday the first shoe dropped as Christian Vital re-opened his recruitment.
According to Vital's AAU Coach Terrence "Munch" Williams, Vital is now open in the process. Williams informed Scout.com, "Christian has re-opened his recruitment."
It appears as though Vital will be able to sign anywhere he wants in the spring since he didn't sign a binding National Letter of Intent with UNLV in the fall.
Initially Vital picked the Running Rebels over the Dayton Flyers, and now Vital plans to listen to all schools coming in to see him.
Vital was one of the top players in the prestigious NEPSAC this year, and he helped lead St. Thomas Moore to a runner up finish. Look for Vital to be a heavily pursued guard now that he is free to look around, and is on the open market.
