Bobby Jones, 6-6 SF Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, told us recently that he's leaning towards a spring commitment. Jones, who has transferred from Dominguez to Long Beach Poly, told us that he thinks he could improve his stock with a good senior season. "I think I can have a good senior year and then we'll see what happens in the spring," Jones said. "I might commit in the fall if it's the right situation, but I'm willing to wait until spring."
Jones had an in-home visit with New Mexico head coach Fran Fraschilla on Monday and said the visit went well. "It was a good presentation from Coach Fraschilla," Jones said. "He answered most of my questions before I even had a chance to ask them."
Jones was supposed to have in-homes with Pepperdine and Boston College this week, but those visits will be rescheduled. Additionally, Jones has in-homes with UConn on Sept. 19th and Oregon on Sept. 20th. He said that he will schedule official trips after the in-homes are concluded.
We asked Bobby if there were any other schools involved at this point and he said, "Kansas was involved, but I haven't heard from them in over a month. Also Wyoming, but they called me when they got a commitment from a junior college player and said they had filled the spot."
Bobby also stressed that he's willing to listen to other schools. "These are the five that are the most interested in me now, but I'm open to hearing from others," Jones said.
Bobby told us that he passed the SAT in June and he's fully qualified.
