At this point in the summer, Gordon has not locked into any official visit dates and for the most part, doesn't even know which schools will receive official visits, except for one. "I'm going to sit down and talk to my parents," Gordon said. "I know I'm going to take one to Vanderbilt. They were just there from day one and they recruited me real hard. I'm going to take a visit there."
Gordon went on to say that Vanderbilt is the leader for his signature heading into the official visit part of his recruitment.
"There are schools that tell me to come in and I'll be the man from Day One. At Vanderbilt, I can go in and get an education and they're in a top conference and they got a lot to offer. Playing time is a big thing."
With the variety of programs at different levels on his list, Gordon understands that his chance to shine might come at different times. He's not ruling out going to a smaller school but it would have to be the perfect fit. "I maybe would if they had a chance to win and I was going to play. It couldn't be a small school [rather a good mid-major] but if they recruited hard, I would think about it."
Very early in the process, Gordon is going to think about playing time. "I don't think anybody can be happy if they come in and sit the bench. Being a competitor like me, I like to win."
