Class of 2017 four-star forward Kyle Young had a very successful high school season. The skilled power forward with solid athleticism led his team to a gaudy record and some big wins, and now he is ready to do the same on the AAU circuit, and there is no doubt a lot of college coaches will be looking on.
“Some of the top schools recruiting me are Michigan, Purdue, Butler, Wisconsin, Xavier, and Clemson,” said Young. “I have 15 offers total.”
The versatile forward has made numerous unofficial visits and has had a lot of coaches at his games throughout the past two seasons.
Lately the Michigan Wolverines have really picked up the pace in this recruitment. John Beilein has made Young a priority and likes his game a lot.
“I had a nice visit to Michigan,” explained Young. “They were my most recent offer this past year. Coach Beilein came down to a couple of the games and I like their style of play so it was a big offer.”
Another school that has clearly made Young a priority is Butler. The Bulldogs are looking to add versatility and athleticism to their frontline, and have targeted Young in the 2017 class.
“They’ve been talking to me for a while,” said Young. “They’ve been talking to me before I really had any offers, so it is a school I really like.”
At the moment Young says he doesn’t have a leader and is in no real hurry to make a commitment. That said he does have a timeframe in mind for when he wants to get things down to a manageable number to take a closer look at the schools involved.
“I’ll probably start narrowing things down soon during the AAU season, and then hopefully I will make a decision before the start of my senior season,” explained Young.
