Thon Maker ruled eligible for NBA Draft

Five-star 2016 prospect Thon Maker was ruled eligible for the NBA Draft.

Thon Maker was ruled eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft, his guardian Ed Smith told Scout.

Maker declared for the Draft on April 3rd, but there were questions surrounding his eligibility. Maker graduated last year and did a post graduate year this year.

Shortly after declaring for the Draft, Maker traveled to Myrtle Beach to begin training with NBA skills trainer Drew Hanlen.

Maker has been well traveled. A native of Sudan, Maker moved to Australia and then to the United States in the eighth grade.

Maker had a brief stint in Louisiana before going to Carlisle School in Virginia. After two seasons there, Maker moved to Canada to go to Athletes Institute.

Maker was ranked the No. 5 prospect in the 2016 rankings.
