One of the most unique and versatile talents in the 2017 class comes from Windermere (Fla.) Prep in David Nickelberry.
At the UnderArmour Association on Friday night, Nickelberry displayed his elite vision, while he scored with his runner and made plays using his quick hands on defense.
“I can play the one through three, whatever the coaches need,” Nickelberry said.
When Scout last spoke with Nickelberry in December, he told us that Texas was his dream school. Recently, the Longhorns extended a scholarship offer.
“It definitely was big time,” Nickelberry said. “I was very, very happy. I remember as soon as I got offered I called my mom and we started crying with each other.”
While the Texas offer was big to Nickelberry, there are two programs that stand out for the four-star prospect.
“Texas and Florida State” Nickelberry listed as his favorites.
While the talented passer grew up a Texas fan, Florida State remains very appealing to him.
"The FSU coaching staff is great," he said. "I love how they bond with the players; not just for a little while but for a lifetime."
The plan from here is to take some trips before deciding possibly towards the end of August.
“I’ll see what coaches like me and (take) some visits,” he said. “I want to visit with coaches and see facilities.”
