SEC schools were all over four-star wing DeAundre Ballard

DUNCANVILLE, Tex - Four-star guard DeAundre Ballard keeps his recruitment close to the vest, but there is no denying the talent he possesses.

Four-star shooting guard DeAundrae Ballard likes to keep a low profile off the court. He does very little in the way of media and prefers to keep out of the spotlight. However on the court the Georgia native made a big statement with his play, and had a lot of coaches in attendance to check on him.

At around 6-foot-4 with good athleticism and a high motor, Ballard is someone who can really impact the game when he is making shots. He did a good job of that over the weekend, and his time in the gym looks to be paying off.

“So far the spring is going great,” said Ballard. “I am just preparing myself for college. I am working hard to improve on my weaknesses while mastering my strength.”

Ballard declined to name schools recruiting him, but Florida, Georgia, and Alabama were a constant presence at his games. Also Auburn was seen watching as well as Clemson.

To this point Ballard says he has had more one official visit, that was to Florida and it happened at the same time that AAU teammate Elias Harden visited the school. The Gators have put in a lot of work with Ballard, as have other schools on his list.

Currently Ballard isn’t giving any kind of timeframe for his decision, but he does know what he will be looking for in a school.

“I look for a family atmosphere, coaches with character, and a place that develops players and will help me get better,” said Ballard.
