Marcus Tsohonis hearing from several programs early

Marcus Tsohonis is a young prospect from Portland who already has a number of schools recruiting him. Here's an intro to his game and recruitment.

One of the better young prospects in Portland comes from Jefferson High School in Marcus Tsohonis.

The 2019 prospect’s Portland Basketball Club AAU coach, Reggie Walker, describes his guard as a heady player.

“Tsohonis has an above average feel, is excellent in the pick and roll and knocks down shots from out to three point range,” Walker said.

“I get people open, I look for my shot when I can and I push the ball in transition,” Tsohonis added. “I’m working on my shooting touch and my defense.”

Boise State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland, Portland State and Washington are showing early interest in Tsohonis.

The freshman grew up a fan of a local program.

“Oregon,” Tsohonis said. “I live here and I’ve always liked them.”

Academics will play a role in Tsohonis’ recruitment.

“I like writing,” he said. “I want to be a good writer when I get older.”
