One of Oregon’s top 2018 prospects comes from Portland Grant in 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward Kelton Samore.
According to Samore’s AAU coach with the Portland Basketball Club, Reggie Walker, the sophomore is a talented shooter.
“Samore is a long combo forward who projects well as a stretch four at the next level,” Walker said. “He's a willing passer and has a knack for scoring around the basket. A developing three-point shooter, Samore has all the tools to become an impact player on the circuit.”
Samore cites his versatility as one of his best attributes.
“I consider myself a versatile player,” he said. “I can run the floor and see well. I’m not just a guy who wants to shoot every time; I want to get the ball to other players and facilitate. I’m working on my athleticism.”
Portland and Portland State are showing interest in Samore, who has an idea of what he’ll be looking for in a school.
“Good atmosphere, good campus and good academics,” Samore said.
