adidas: Auburn & Alabama make impression on four-star Alex Reese

SUWANEE, Ga. -- 2017 four-star power forward Alex Reese is a priority recruit for schools and the South. Following his opening game at the adidas Gauntlet in Atlanta, the 6-foot-9 big man told Scout that he's developed great relationships with Avery Johnson and Bruce Pearl.

Four-star forward Alex Reese had a strong showing on the opening night of the second evaluation period at the adidas Gauntlet series, which was held at the Suwanee Sports Academy. 

Reese, a 6-foot-8 power forward, scored 16 points on 7-for-14 shooting, while also knocking in one of his two three-point attempts. He also added eight rebounds and five blocks.

A priority recruit for schools in the south, Reese showed good mobility, quality athleticism and terrific hands and touch. He was active, finished plays in transition and caught a pair of lobs in the half court. 

Avery Johnson, Rob Ehsan, Mick Cronin, Bruce Weber and Andy Kennedy were among the head coaches that watched Reese on Friday.  

To go with interest from AlabamaUABKansas StateCincinnati and Mississippi, Reese also has interest from New Mexico, Murray State, TexasKansas and Auburn.

Reese told Scout that he's built the best relationships with Johnson and Bruce Pearl.
