Four-star wing Naji Marshall is someone who has been on the steady incline as a prospect over the past 12 months. Running with DC Premier, Marshall has emerged as one of the top targets for schools in the area, and recently picked up a trio of offers.
Marshall made the coaches in attendance at his game on Friday night happy they offered with an impressive display of passing and rebounding like normal, but maybe most importantly he flashed a much improved perimeter jumper by knocking in three straight triples from deep.
“I’ve been working on my three point jump shot, getting stronger, and just getting in great shape so I can play the whole game,” said Marshall of his improvement.
Recruiting wise Cincinnati, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Georgetown have been involved with Marshall for a while, and recently he added three offers.
“I got three offers this week from Xavier, Temple, and UCF,” said Marshall.
The offer from Xavier came during an in-home visit with Head Coach Chris Mack and assistant Mike Pegues.
“It was great,” said Marshall of the visit. “I like Coach Pegues and Coach Mack. They are great guys who work on their guys to get them better and also get an education. So I like that a lot.”
Xavier’s crosstown rival, Cincinnati, is also very much in the mix and he likes what the Bearcats have to say.
“They are pretty cool too,” said Marshall of Cincinnati. “They seem dedicated to their players and helping them succeed so I like that.”
When it comes to visits, Marshall says he would like to visit Xavier and Virginia Tech in June.
About the Hokies, Marshall said, “Coach Buzz (Williams) and Coach (Isaac) Chew are great guys and I want to see the campus.”
For now Marshall is in no hurry to make a decision, but the four-star prospect looks improved and like someone who could be a stock riser during the month of April and beyond.
