One of the breakout performers of this weekend’s adidas Gauntlet event was Emmanuel Akot, a 6-foot-7 190-pound small forward who plays AAU with Exum Elite.
The Mt. Pleasant (Utah) Wasatch Academy 2018 prospect has good size, length, athleticism, vision and showed the ability to score facing up and around the basket.
“I’m versatile; I can play the one through four,” Akot said. “I can score and pass. I’m working on my jumper and getting stronger.”
While he says he’s not focused on recruiting right now, he has seen Utah’s campus already.
“I watched one game and they like to move the ball and they’re aggressive,” Akot said. “The campus is beautiful.
“I’m really close with coach Tommy Connor. He’s been in communication with me and really likes my game. “
Akot doesn’t have a timetable for his recruitment but has an idea of what he’ll be looking for in a school.
“I want good relationships with the coaches and somewhere I can contribute,” he says.
