Florida post Mayan Kiir putting name on map, picking up offers

Mayan Kiir is an emerging 2017 post who has at least four offers. Here's the latest on Kiir's game and recruitment.

An emerging post from Bradenton (Fla.) Victory Rock Prep was on display last weekend at the adidas Gauntlet playing for the Florida Sons.

Mayan Kiir, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound 2017 prospect, is a strong and mobile post who plays hard and does a nice job scoring around the basket and securing rebounds.

“I like my energy, motor and how I get the team going all the time,” Kiir said. “I like my defense, I’m good around the rim and in the post. I’m still working on my left hand, my three-pointer and handle.”

Kiir listed offers from Louisville, VCU, Illinois and Long Beach State.

“I like how Louisville plays on defense,” Kiir said. “Their intensity is really good and that’s how I play. I really like how they play.

“I heard Illinois has a good position for me and that I really fit how they play.”

The junior big man has an idea of what he’s looking for in a school.

“Education and playing right away,” said Kiir.
