In-state schools are all over Ohio native Darius Bazley

Forward Darius Bazley is one of the players in the Midwest with the highest upside in the 2018 class, and in-stat schools are beginning to make him a priority recruit.

There always seems to be a player or two who emerges late out of the state of Ohio that has a ton of potential. One player who could fit into that mold is 2018 forward Darius Bazley. The Cincinnati native has all the tools you look for in a prospect, and could be close to putting it all together.

“I think I have been playing pretty good,” said Bazley. “I am trying to show college coaches what I can do, and it is going pretty well so far.”

He continued, “I am working on my mid-range, and also working on being a player who can stretch the floor from the three or the four position.”

When it comes to his recruitment, a lot of local schools are showing Bazley significant attention.

“I am hearing from Ohio State, Dayton, Xavier, Penn State, West Virginia, and Virginia so far,” listed Bazley.

Recently Ohio State visited Bazley at his school, and the Buckeyes are trying to get him up to campus for a visit in the near future.

“They are trying to get me on campus,” said Bazley. “They just spoke to my mother. They’d like to get me on campus before June 15, and they say they like me a lot.”

One campus that Bazley has had a chance to see multiple times is Xavier. Xavier is only about 15 minutes from his house, and Bazley visited there for a few games this season.

“Xavier is just a hometown school,” explained Bazley. “Their coaches are real cool, and I made it to a couple of their games this year. I saw them against Villanova and that was a great atmosphere.”

Another school not far from his house is Dayton. The Flyers have put in major work on Bazley so far, and they are hoping to get a visit from the talented prospect soon.

“They are saying they want me on campus when it is allowed for open gym and stuff,” said Bazley. “They seem like a good coaching staff and I like them a lot.”

For now Bazley is in no hurry with his decision, and he hopes to make his visits this spring and summer before running with King James in July on the 16 and under EYBL.
