Top 75 2017 SF Corey Kispert commits to Gonzaga

Gonzaga is on the board in 2017, as the Zags landed a commitment from Scout's 75th ranked prospect in the class, Corey Kispert.

Gonzaga landed a big local commitment on Wednesday, as Corey Kispert pledged to the Zags following a recent official visit to the school.

The rising senior announced his commitment via Twitter.

Kispert, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound small forward from Seattle King, is Scout's 75th ranked prospect in the 2017 class.

The four-star prospect was planning on officially visiting Notre Dame and Virginia, but ended his recruitment, choosing Gonzaga.

In Kispert, Gonzaga is landing a strong small forward with an extremely high floor. He has a good frame with wide shoulders and is already very strong for a kid his age. Kispert has a big time stroke and can really shoot it from both midrange and three.

Not just a shooter, Kispert also possesses an extremely high basketball IQ and plays very unselfish basketball. Kispert is right handed but he handles the ball so well with his left that it until he shoots it, you wouldn't know it. He sees the court very well and is constantly passing up good looks for better shots for teammates.

Kispert's strength allows him to finish with contact and he can score with both hands around the basket. He's not a great athlete but should be able to defend most threes and some undersized fours at the next level.

Offensively he can play anywhere on the perimeter besides point guard. Kispert doesn't necessarily have a really high upside, but is a safe bet to have a successful four-year career at Gonzaga.

Kispert is Gonzaga's first commitment in 2017.
