UConn, Zach Brown part ways

Zach Brown is no longer part of Kevin Ollie's 2017 recruiting class. The two parties agreed to part ways on Thursday.

Connecticut and four-star center Zach Brown have mutually agreed to part ways, according to a source close to the situation.

Brown, a 7-footer from Miami, committed to Kevin Ollie and the Huskies on January 20th. Following the commitment, Brown transferred to Putnam Science Academy before going back to Miami.

At the time of his pledge to Connecticut, Brown also considered scholarship offers and interest from the likes of Florida, Georgia, Miami and North Carolina State.

Through seven games in the Elite Youth Basketball League, playing for Nike South Beach, Brown is averaging 6.1 points and 6.7 rebounds a game.

Brown is currently regarded as Scout's No. 30 overall prospect and No. 9 at the center position.
