Tyger Campbell talks recent Michigan State offer

Class of 2019 point guard Tyger Campbell was a leader as a freshman on one of the top high school teams in the country and now he is adding big offers like the recent one from Michigan State.

One of the top playmakers in the 2019 class is 5-foot-11 point guard Tyger Campbell. The La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere standout has had a tremendous spring and added a big scholarship offer recently.

“It has been a good spring so far,” explained Campbell. “I am playing up on the 17’s so I am trying to get my confidence back and continue to get better for the next high school season.”

He continued, “I’ve been working on my jump shot and just being more aggressive. Sometimes I guess I can disappear so I am focused on being more aggressive.”

On the recruiting trail several schools have come forward with a scholarship offer to Campbell.

“I have offers from TCU, Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa, DePaul, and a couple of other schools,” noted Campbell.

His last two offers came from Michigan State and TCU.

About Michigan State, Campbell said, “It didn’t hit me at first, but then I realized Coach (Tom) Izzo offered me so that was a really big. They obviously have a great program and I was glad they offered.”

He continued, “We went as a team a couple times to see Michigan State. I think we went to a Michigan State football and basketball game. We went on Valentine’s Day and that is when Denzel Valentine was cooking. So it was a great atmosphere and I liked it a lot.”

At this point Campbell is just taking it all in on the recruiting trail and wants to make numerous visits before coming to any kind of college decision.
