One player who used the spring evaluation period to the best of his ability was Naji Marshall. Marshall was tremendous for DC Premier all April long, and he added offers because of it. Recently Marshall made a key unofficial visit with another big one coming up.
Offers came to Marshall from schools such as West Virginia, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Providence, and Temple during the month of April, and all of those made an impact.
One that definitely intrigued Marshall came from Xavier. Recently Marshall made the trip from Washington D.C. to see the campus in Cincinnati, and he came away impressed.
“I liked the campus a lot, and I also really liked the coaching staff,” said Marshall. I like how everything is from the education to the athletics.”
A major key for Marshall and Xavier is the relationship he is not only building with assistant coach Mike Pegues and Head Coach Chris Mack, but the entire coaching staff.
“I think me and the coaches at Xavier are getting very close,” said Marshall. “The whole coaching staff is just really cool.”
Up next on the visit circuit is Virginia Tech. Buzz Williams and the Hokies have done a good job of recruiting Marshall and he is interested to see the Blacksburg campus.
“I’m not expecting anything major,” said Marshall of the upcoming visit. “I just want to see what they have to offer from academics to athletics.”
Marshall continued about Virginia Tech, “Coach Buzz is a really cool guy. He is funny, but he is also very passionate about basketball so I like that.
Outside of the visit to Xavier and the upcoming visit to Virginia Tech, Marshall says he is also very interested in visiting Pittsburgh if he can get a chance.
