Combo guard Parker Stewart has attracted a lot of attention over the past 12 months on the recruiting trail. His ability to shoot combined with good size in the backcourt has made him someone high-majors are very intrigued with, and currently three schools are recruiting him the hardest.
“I think I have been playing pretty well,” explained Stewart of the Spring. “I have been doing a lot of shooting and really just trying to improve both on offense and defense.”
On the recruiting trail schools like Wisconsin, Missouri, Georgetown, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Ole Miss, and Nebraska have shown significant attention or offered Stewart, but he says three schools are coming at him the hardest.
“The schools recruiting me the hardest I’d say are probably Ole Miss, Georgetown, and Wisconsin,” said Stewart.
About the Badgers, Stewart said, “Wisconsin loves shooters, and I can shoot. I think I would fit into their system well.”
Under Andy Kennedy Ole Miss has had very good guard play, and Stewart likes the freedom he would have in their system.
“They let their guards play,” explained Stewart of the Rebels. “Whoever plays the one or two has freedom to shoot, and while they don’t run a ton of sets, they do work to get their shooters open.”
When it comes to the Hoyas, Stewart said, “Georgetown is recruiting me to play the one, and I want to play there in college, so I like them a lot.”
At the moment Stewart is simply focused on his spring and summer on the AAU circuit with Team Penny, and he hopes to be able to make visits and then determine which school is the best fit for him.
