Jared Ridder talks Arkansas visit and upcoming trips

Three-star forward Jared Ridder has one of the best shooting strokes in the 2017 class, and he is set to make a pair of visits during the month of June.

Playing for the loaded MoKan Elite squad, sharp shooting Jared Ridder isn’t the focus of the offense. Still he has attracted a significant amount of college interest, and more schools are becoming involved in his recruitment.

“This spring has been great,” said Ridder. “I really like playing with these guys. We are 10-1 right now so we are looking to close things out strong in Atlanta.”

On the recruiting side of things Ridder has strong college interest, and continues to add more schools into the mix.

“Xavier, Oklahoma State, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, and some other schools are all talking to me,” said Ridder.

Recently Ridder made an unofficial visit to Arkansas, and he came away with an offer, and was also impressed with what he saw.

“I really liked the campus and the coaches,” said Ridder of the visit to Fayetteville. “I am going to keep looking at them and building a relationship.”

According to Ridder, Mike Anderson and his staff say that Ridder would fit their system well, “They say that they like to get out and run and shoot the ball. They think I can do more than be a spot up guy, so I like that.”

While the visit to Arkansas happened already, two more visits are set for the month of June.

“I am making two visits next month,” said Ridder. “One will be to Oklahoma State and another to Xavier.”

About his interest in Xavier, Ridder said, “Chris Mack came to one of my open gyms and saw me play. He liked my game and called and offered.”

When asked what he is looking forward to on that visit, Ridder noted, “I just want to meet their guys and get a better feel for the program and see how it is.”

Oklahoma State is new to the mix with Head Coach Brad Underwood, and the Cowboys will also hope to make an impression when Ridder gets to campus.

“I have heard they have great facilities and I am looking forward to seeing those as well as continuing to get to know the coaches,” said Ridder.

For now Ridder has no specific timetable for his decision, and wants to get as much information about each school as possible.
