Trevion Williams capped off an impressive spring and now has Michigan State and Xavier visits

ELGIN, IL - Skilled center Trevion Williams opened eyes with his play all spring. He capped things off with a strong Chicago Classic event over Memorial Day weekend, and now he has two June trips planned.

Class of 2018 big man Trevion Williams has been emerging this spring in a big way. Running with the Michigan Mustangs, Williams has shown the ability to score inside and out, and now the 6-foot-8 and 245 pounder is adding major college interest.

“The spring has been going well,” said Williams. “I feel like I am progressing every day. I am working to get faster, better off the dribble, and also I have been working on my rebounding.”

On the recruiting trail several schools have picked things up with Williams who has significant college interest.

“I have been hearing a lot from schools like Michigan State, Xavier, Michigan, DePaul, Iowa, Toledo, Akron, and Toledo,” said Williams.

He continued, “I haven’t made any visits yet, but I am in June. I am going to Michigan State and Xavier for their camps.”

Tom Izzo has long made recruiting within the state borders a major priority, and he seems to have picked things up recently here.

“They have really increased their interest in me,” said Williams. “They want me to keep working on my game, and they say they will be watching me a lot in July.”

Xavier has also had a lot of success recently recruiting the state of Michigan, and they continue to build a relationship with Williams.

“They are introducing themselves to me,” said Williams of Xavier. “They want to see me at their camp in June, and the coaches seem like real nice guys.”

For now Williams has no favorites and no timeline for a decision. He wants to see who all offers before moving forward in the recruiting process.
