One of the more impressive scoring wings in the 2018 class this spring has been Torrence Watson. The St. Louis native has put up huge numbers with Ramey-Jets United, and continued to show well for himself at the Chicago Classic.
“The spring is going pretty well. We were good in Dallas and Atlanta, and as a team we keep playing well, and individually I think I am playing well also,” said Watson.
About his game, Watson said, “I have been working on my jump shot a lot. Last year I know I was just a big, athletic wing who went to the basket. Now I feel I am more well-rounded as a player.”
When it comes to his recruitment, Watson has several offers and more programs showing him significant attention.
“I have offers from Creighton, Missouri, St. Louis, and Kansas State,” noted Watson. “Also I have interest from Texas, Virginia, Purdue, Illinois, and some other schools.”
While Missouri has been rebuilding the past few seasons, Watson sees a great opportunity for him at the SEC school.
“I like that they are close to home,” said Watson of Missouri. “It would be nice to play in front of family and represent my city.”
Also the Creighton Bluejays have really stepped up their interest in Watson, and continue to try and sell him on how he fits in their system.
“They tell me that I fit their offense and that they like to get out in transition so I would have a chance to play with the ball in my hands,” said Watson.
For now Watson has no visits planned, but he does hope to make some trips during the month of June.
