Four-star point guard Justin Roberts looks to help bring DePaul back

The DePaul Blue Demons look like they locked up their future floor general with point guard Justin Roberts.

One of the top pure point guards in the class of 2017 in the Midwest came off the board today. Justin Roberts made his commitment to the DePaul Blue Demons just a day after making an unofficial visit to the school. Roberts, who starred at power Pike High School as well as with the Spiece Indy Heat, picked up an offer from DePaul during the high school season, and their loyalty was rewarded with a commitment.

"Everything was just right," said Roberts of his commitment. "I like the city, the campus, the academics, and the coaches. Also I like the conference, it was just everything."

One of the key selling points for DePaul is the immediate playing time available at the point guard position.

"Billy Garrett Jr is leaving after this year, and I will have the chance to come in and have the ball in my hands," said Roberts. "I think I fit in well with their style of play. They get up and down, and the conference suits me well."

Piece by piece DePaul is looking to rebuild under the leadership of Dave Leitao, and Monday was a huge day for that. They landed not only Roberts, but Oklahoma and Ohio State transfer Austin Grandstaff.

According to Roberts having the chance to help lead DePaul back to the NCAA Tournament was a big deal for him.

"It would mean a lot to me to help DePaul rebuild," explained Roberts. "I want to be a part of that. I want to be a guy that committed first and showed my loyalty to help bring them back."
