Every year at the Nike Elite 100 a few kids manage to really surprise and play above their reputation. The player who most fit into that category this year was Jeenathan Williams. The New York native impressed with his motor and productivity, and could be in line for a major bump in his recruitment.
“I played how I wanted, which was to make my teammates better and just bring energy to the court every minute I was out there,” said Williams of his Elite 100 performance.
About his game overall, Williams said, “I am versatile. I can put the ball on the floor, and I also think I am a good shooter and someone who can pass the ball as well. I am working just to be as complete a player as possible.”
On the recruiting trail things are just now beginning to pick up for Williams, but he did land a recent Atlantic 10 offer.
“My most recent offer is from St. Louis,” noted Williams.
When it comes to the offer, Williams said, “It was great to get that offer. I want to just keep grinding and show that they were right to offer me.”
For now Williams is in no hurry in his recruitment. He is focused on suiting up for the Albany City Rocks in July and continuing to show that he is one of the most underappreciated players in the class of 2018.
